LATEWORK

Assignments will be accepted for late credit- 20% reduction- up to 2 calendar days after the due date.  Also, late work forfeits any bonus opportunities offered on that item.

MAKE-UP WORK

First and foremost, get missed lecture notes ASAP, but not at the expense of the current lesson!

Make-up Assignments:  Work due when you are absent is to be in on the day of your return.  After that time, it falls under the late work policy stated above.  If work is assigned when you are absent, schedule a due date when you get the assignment on your return.  Otherwise your due date is the same as everyone else’s.

Make-up Quizzes:  Make-up quizzes must be done within one week of the original quiz date, and do not include bonus credit.  Quiz make-ups are before and after school on any day.  Make-up quizzes from tardies, dress code violations and unexcused absences will be more difficult than the original quiz.

Make-up Tests:  Make-up tests have no bonus credit, and do not receive a scaled grade if one was used for the class.  Make-up testers are allowed the same clock time as class testers.  All test make-ups are after school on Fridays only.

Scores on Make-up Work:   According to county policy, work made up from UNEXCUSED absences will be penalized 10%.  This includes test and quiz scores. EXCUSED absences are determined by the attendance office- not the teacher.  To have an absence marked as excused, you must present documentation for the absence to the attendance office (Room 106) within 2 school days.

Whether for late work or make-up work, I do consider extenuating circumstances,
but the student should initiate the discussion in a timely manner.

Also, know that I keep a record of
the frequency and reasons for extensions granted.
