CRITERIA for BIOLOGICAL SKETCHING
1) Decide before beginning where the drawing will be placed and how large it will be; leave room for labels.
2) Maintain a margin on all sides (at least ¼-inch) that is free of any drawing or writing.
3) Use only white, unlined, standard-sized paper.
4) NEVER DRAW ON THE BACK. Drawings on the back of the paper will not be graded.
5) PENCIL ONLY for all sketching and labeling. No ink of any kind. Use only colored pencil to add color.
6) PRINT all labels.
7) Use a ruler on all labeling lines.
8) Do not permit labeling lines to cross.
9) Draw only one picture per page, unless instructions permit otherwise.
10) Each picture receives a title printed either above or below the picture.
11) All writing is to be HORIZONTAL- not slanted, sideways, or tipped. Labeling lines, however, can be angled.
12) Spelling counts. No abbreviations are permitted except those universally accepted.
13) Neatness counts. Erasure marks should not be obvious.
