Policies:

-Electronics

1st offense -  Student will receive a verbal warning.

2nd offense - The device is confiscated until the end of the school day and the student will receive an after school detention.

3rd offense – The student will be sent to their administrator with a disciplinary referral.

-Hall Passes:

Restroom and hall passes will be limited to 3 per grading period.  They can be used with permission 10 minutes after the starting bell and 10 minutes before the ending bell.

-Profanity:

Students who use profanity will be given a 15 minute after school detention.  If the problem persists, the student will be sent to their administrator with a referral. Detentions start at 1:30 and end at 1:45. Students who are late or choose to not show up for their detention will receive a referral.

-Disruptive Behavior:

This is a problem that affects everyone in the learning environment.  If a student has behavior which is disruptive to the class, they will be given an 15 minute after school detention.  If the problem persists and detentions are not resolving the behavior, the student will be sent to their administrator with a disciplinary referral.

Grades:

Students will be given approximately two tests and a writing assignment per grading period. The writing assignment will be counted as a test grade.  Every student has the opportunity to retake each test, provided that they have completed the study guide assigned for the specific test material. I will designate 2 days for retakes in the week following the test .  There are no exceptions/extensions to this policy.  The higher of the two grades will be recorded and the lower grade will discarded.

A student's grade is based on two factors, test grades 75% and homework/notebook grades 25%.
